2018 JUN 7 -- Day 57

So I am down to my lowest weight ever today.  I am 351 lbs. This means I have dropped a total of 50 lbs since my husband's birthday in March. That's just amazing! I don't expect this number to hold, though. I am still in my feasting period. I expect huge weight fluctuations, and if I balloon back up another 4 or 5 lbs, I won't be surprised. What I don't want to see is a regain back to 358.8 lbs or even more. Starting weight:  401 lbs Current weight:  351  lbs   ⇩ Long-term Goal:  145 lbs Short-term Goal:  325 lbs I'm not sure when I should start my next 120-hour fast. I'm thinking that I should eat breakfast tomorrow, and then start my fast immediately after. That sounds like a good plan to me. I'm struggling with trying to figure out how calorie counts actually work from day to day. Is it based on the circadian rhythms? How does the body know when one day ends and another begins in terms of when I eat my calories? Do I have to eat them all...

2018 JUN 6 -- Day 56

Just as I had expected, my weight has gone way up after eating today. I indulged in two meals -- breakfast and lunch -- for a whopping 1640 total calories. I did this on the advice of Megan Ramos. I am a bit skeptical that eating so much will help me lose weight in the long run, but we shall see. Starting weight:  415 lbs Current weight:  354.2  lbs  ⇧   Long-term Goal:  145 lbs Short-term Goal:  325 lbs Now, I am not supposed to gain everything back that I had lost on my 5-day fast. If I do, that's a sign that I am dehydrated and not getting enough water while I am fasting. I was at 258.8 lbs when I started. I dropped to 252 lbs. According to Dr. Fung, I should expect a loss of around a half-a-pound per day. For a 5-day fast, that is a net loss of about 2.5 lbs. With current numbers, my net is 4.6 lbs. We will see what happens to my weight tomorrow. My husband is trying to get me accepted as a patient under his doctor. She is very open-mind...

2018 JUN 5 -- Day 55

I have lost more weight! I know that this is not likely to stay off once i eat again, but I'm still feeling pretty great about it. I'm going to keep this feeling as long as I can. My blood glucose number was a bit better today. It was 127mg/dl. That's better, but it is still not ideal. I'm going to eat after 7:05 AM tomorrow morning, and I'm super curious to find out what it is going to do with my blood glucose level. I may also need to invest in a ketone meter, too. I jhust learned about something called a "glucose ketone index," and it may be important. Starting weight:  401 lbs Current weight:  352  lbs   ⇩ Long-term Goal:  145 lbs Short-term Goal:  325 lbs I have been viewing video Q&As from Megan Ramos. She is a consultant who works with Dr. Fung and the Intensive Dietary Management (IDM) program. I have joined the membership, and that's because I got a free month. I don't know whether it's worth the $39 per month to continue th...

2018 JUN 4 -- Day 54

I am now at 85 hours on my current fast, and my goal is 120 hours. I'm doing really well. I'm down 2 more pounds today from yesterday, but the fat loss should only be about a half-a-pound. This has to be water weight. I don't feel dehydrated, and I am keeping up with my electrolytes. Still, I expect to regain a bunch in water weight when I re-feed. When the scale goes up after I eat, I will not be discouraged by it because I know that it is expected. But I have to say, this rapid weight loss is really nice! Starting weight:  401 lbs Current weight:  352.8  lbs   ⇩ Long-term Goal:  145 lbs Short-term Goal:  325 lbs I can't wait to get home from work to see whether I have lost any more weight. Usually the best time to check is around 1:00 PM in the afternoon, but I am usually sleeping then. And I have been able tos ee these lower weights at around 6:30 PM when I get up for work, so maybe my circadian rhythms are finally catching up to my schedule. I ha...

2018 JUN 3 -- Day 53

I am at my lowest weight so far today, and I am thrilled! I also got some fairly decent sleep, too. I tested my blood glucose again today, and it was 133mg/dl which is still scarily high, but it is much improved over yesterday's 146mg/dl reading. I'm thinking the fasting is pushing it up, but I expect it will keep falling to more normal ranges as my fasting persists. I read a bit about it yesterday. Starting weight:  401 lbs Current weight:  354.4  lbs   ⇩ Long-term Goal:  145 lbs Short-term Goal:  325 lbs In total, since I started the new diet after seeing the scale reach back up to 401 lbs in March, I have dropped an amazing 46.6 lbs. 15 lbs were done with just the Shangri-la diet, and the rest was after I found out about keto and fasting. I have to say, the keto and fasting is definitely a lot more effective. My husband's blood glucose reading today was in the 90s! He's cured! He's not diabetic! Woo! I'm so happy that we were able to get that i...

2018 JUN 2 -- Day 52

I got my Dario blood glucose monitor today. I have also been fasting for about 37 hours at this point. It is currently 8:30 PM, and I am at work. I heard that fasting can raise the blood glucose readings, and that has happened. I measured a whopping 146mg/dl! This is number seems impossible as I'm eating literally nothing at all. I plan to do more research on how this fasting-affecting-glucose works. I will report my findings once I know more. Starting weight:  401 lbs Current weight:  356.4  lbs   ⇩ Long-term Goal:  145 lbs Short-term Goal:  325 lbs On a lighter note, I am lighter! I'm lighter by an astounding 2.4 lbs! Wow! Just as I thought, it was all water, inflammation, and the food in my body that weighed me down. I had a nice visit with the porcelain fairy, and I also lost a lot of water from yesterday to today, so this is a number I was almost expecting to see. I'm also at my lowest -- my lowest before this was 356.8 lbs. I'm stoked! In total...

2018 JUN 1 -- Day 51

I overdid it with the eating, and I started my new fast at around 7:05 AM today. It'll be fine. I was making "keto snacks" for my husband, and so it was really worth the extra calories, but I will not be too discourage by the weight gain as a result because I expect it. I know what I did, and I accept it. It's still all keto-approved, though, so I'm sure I will drop back down again soon. The graph doesn't look pretty, though. I already gained about 2 lbs from where I was just two days ago. Starting weight:  415 lbs Current weight:  358.8  lbs  ⇧   Long-term Goal:  145 lbs Short-term Goal:  359 lbs I'm not too mad at the larger number on the scale. It was expected. I am still under 359 lbs, so I'm still happy. I also think m true weight is lower than that because there really is no way I could've gained that much weight in fat or muscle in such a short period. I'm chalking it up to a combination of bloat and the amount of food in my syste...
