2017 SEP 2 -- Day 14

Today marks the end of the second week since I started trying this crazy new diet method. That's an accomplishment in an of itself. Usually, the thing I try makes no difference whatsoever on my weight by this point, and I get angry/bored/perturbed/stressed/sad and stop giving it any effort. While I did have a major up-blip, I appear to be back on track. While yesterday had my weight back up to what it was back at Day 6, today I'm at Day 8's weight, and I'm sure it will drop even more tonight while I refuse to eat. That's right! As a sort of punishment of sorts for what I did to myself on Thursday night, I'm not eating at all while I'm at work tonight. I didn't make all that progress for nothing! I need to teach myself a lesson! LOL On Day 8 I was at 407.8 lbs. As of my last weigh-in around 7:00 PM CDT right before I left for work tonight, I was 0.2 lbs down from Day 8. The scale number is heading in the right direction, so I'm happy about that! O...

2017 SEP 1 -- Day 13

I splurged a bit on high-set-point food this weekend. I have regrets. I also have a rather large up-blip as a result. I ate pizza with my favorite toppings which is a very familiar flavor making it a more fattening food according to Seth's theory. Flavor recognition makes food more fattening, basically, because there are very strong flavor-calorie associations. Foods with very familiar flavors are called "ditto" foods, and ditto foods must be avoided. It's possible to change the flavor of the food so it is not a ditto food, but I didn't do that. 2017 AUG 31 -- Day 12

All of my discouragement is long gone now. The scale just gave me a 405! I know that the 404.8 that I saw over a week ago is going to show up again soon, and 399 is not far behind! Woo! Starting weight:  415 lbs Current weight:  405 lbs  ⇩  Long-term Goal:  145 lbs Short-term Goal:  399 lbs This is such a small victory, and I still weigh so much and have so much left to lose, but this is the first time in my life that I have felt that I control my weight, and it doesn't control me! Take that, fat!! More than 5 lbs gone over the past 6 days. I like that. It's not generally considered healthy to lose weight that quickly, but here in the super high numbers, I think it's generally okay. Taking the oil has become routine and is no longer a chore. I have experienced hunger, but I have been able will-power through it for the most part. 2017 AUG 30 -- Day 11

I weighed myself before work again tonight. I like these lower numbers. I'm pretty sure this is due to not eating during sleep for at least 6 hours. Whatever the case, I'll take it! Yay! Low number! Starting weight:  415 lbs Current weight:  406.4 lbs  ⇩  Long-term Goal:  145 lbs Short-term Goal:  399 lbs I'm at work. It's 10:30 PM. I've been feeling the hungry growly monster in my tummy, but I've been ignoring him... until now. I'm eating my sandwich. According to the book, you are only supposed to feel hungry when you're body is below its set-point. Is my set point higher than 406.4 lbs? Wow! I need to find out how to lower that a lot faster. How can I make it 145 lbs? LOL. I know the answer to this. It gradually becomes lower over time; I must be patient. The trend is still downward on the whole, but right now it is still well above the first measurement I took at 404.8 the day I got my scale. It's going down, and I saw 406.4 lbs today ...

2017 AUG 29 -- Day 10

I just got to work. It is presently 7:50 PM CDT. I have a feeling in my tummy that may be hunger, but I'm not sure. I tried the new oil my husband bought from Walmart last night. It says Bertolli Extra Light Tasting Olive Oil on the label, but it's in the green bottle, and it tastes very much of olives. I think it was mislabeled. I mainly think it was mislabeled because of the ordeal my husband had in simply trying to purchase it. He went into the store on a mission: find a large bottle of any brand of extra light-tasting olive oil (ELOO). He found a bottle -- a big, 51 oz bottle. He took it to the counter. It rang up as Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), and not what I need. Apparently this was accidentally shipped with the EVOO, and it shouldn't have even been available. They don't stick the Bertolli ELOO at all. The label said it was ELOO. The EVOO price was $19, but he got a discount becuse it wasn't even supposed to be a thing, so this ended up being only $10...

2017 AUG 28 -- Day 9

It is Day 9, and I have used all of my oil. Well, not all of it. I still have one dose left. I'll take that one when I get home. The size of the bottle that I started with says it has 36 servings. One serving is one tablespoon, so that makes sense; 36 divided by nine would make four. I take four tablespoons of oil a day; two tablespoons twice a day. On the way home from work, my husband and I stopped at the Walmart. He's in the store getting me a bottle of oil. It's going to be a larger bottle than before. I think I'm going to stick with this and see where it goes. I want to see what happens after doing this for a couple of months at least. Also, I haven't yet reached my goal of being under 400 lbs. I want to see the number three on the scale where that four is now. So far I feel pretty good. I'm definitely not as hungry as I used to be. Normally, I would simply ignore my hunger, but now I don't actually feel hungry so there's nothing to ignore. I...

2017 AUG 27 -- Day 8

Hurricane Harvey is wreaking havoc even here in Austin, TX. We don't have it as bad as locations farther south, though. I just gulped my oil. Food is not the boss of me! I don't feel very hungry at all to be quite honest. I didn't finish my lunch at work. I didn't finish my breakfast/dinner yesterday. I may eat the rest today after my flavor-free hour. I don't know. I might not eat anything!
