Well, it's Day 3 of this new Keto + IF life. I'm feeling super energetic. I'm not feeling too, too hungry at all. I have had a bit of a "hangry" issue, though. I blew up a bit at some of my co-workers. I regret that. I have been feeling hungry, but it's not ravenous hunger. I'm able to ignore it. I also drink coffee or electrolyte water, and I'm good to go. I just have to remember to be more cognizant of my mood and circumspect regarding how I react to things.
Starting weight: 401 lbs
Current weight: 382.8 lbs ⇩
Long-term Goal: 145 lbs
Short-term Goal: 379 lbs
I'm down more than a pound from yesterday. I'm still eating that giant salad. Dr. Berg says that this is likely water weight, but I'm not so sure. I did notice that my feet are much thinner these past couple of days, so he may be right. I'm in detox trying to rid my body of carbs. It should take 24 to 48 hours to get them out of me, and I'm on Day 3.
I'm a bit unclear as to when I will enter the state of ketosis. This is when the body switches from needing to burn sugar for energy to burning fat instead. This will make my body start burning my own fat, and that should make me shed pounds quickly.
He said in one of his videos that you don't lose weight to get healthy, but you get healthy to lose weight which is an interesting thought. It makes sense!
He's recommended that I get in B vitamins. But he also warned against falling into the trap of synthetic vitamins. He makes and sells a nutritional yeast product, but it's a bit spendy. I have located a good vitamin supplement on Amazon, and it says it is non-GMO and all that. It is under $10 a month. I'll see how that goes.
I can't get my first shipment until around April 24th. As my husband I are leaving on vacation and plan to be back by the 25th, this should be fine. Also, we still have our house guest, so he can grab the package for me.
Anyhow, I am still motivated at 3 days in. I'm still eating my daily salads however difficult it may be. I'm getting somewhere between 1500 and 1700 calories in my one daily meal. So this means that not only am I getting the fasting benefits, and nutrition benefits of Keto, but I'm also benefiting from a caloric deficit. I feel fine. I'm still a ball of energy, and I'm annoying my friends and co-workers with all of my excitement over this new lifestyle! Isn't that usually how it goes?
I'm an annoying ball of energy graph:
