2017 NOV 4 -- Day 77

OMG! 375.2 lbs! This is the lowest ever!!! Wow. I can't even tell you how exciting it is to see 375 lbs on the scale. Most people would be, like, "that's still super heavy, though." I know. I know it is, but you don't understand! I've been over 400 lbs for so, so, very long! I'm almost 25 lbs under the 400-lb mark. Imagine you've been trying to lose that last 10 lbs that just wont budge, and then all of a sudden it's gone. That's the closest thing I can equate to this feeling.

Starting weight: 415 lbs
Current weight: 375.2 lbs ⇩
Long-term Goal: 145 lbs
Short-term Goal: 359 lbs

How much do I love down-blips? All of it. All of the much. Think about this. It's a loss of almost 40 lbs. That's, like, 4 10-lb bowling balls. Try carrying 4 10-lb bowling balls. One is heavy enough!

I use a 10-lb ball. I know how heavy that sucker is! And let me tell you, losing the equivalent weight of 4 of those: wow!

I'm also having "skinny" dreams. LOL. I have been dreaming of myself as a thin person shopping for clothes or trying on wedding dresses and looking amazing. I love those dreams. My husband and I had planned to renew our vows and perhaps have a larger, fancier ceremony on our 5-year anniversary. I don't know if we will still do that, but the prospect is fun. That won't be until 2020. There's time for me to get skinny by then. Maybe we will simply take a super fancy vacation.

2017 OCT 25 -- Day 67

I don't have much to say today. I thought I had beaten the plateau, but it is still going strong. I'm the same weight today as I was yesterday. This is not fun, but now I sound like a bit of a broken record. I'm not going to say much today, so I'll share a recipe. Starting weight:  415 lbs Current weight: 378.2 lbs Long-term Goal:  145 lbs Short-term Goal:  359 lbs Japanese-style Ginger Salad Dressing This goes well as a coleslaw dressing. I've used it with a mix of classic cabbage slaw and Asian-style broccoli slaw. 1-1/2 C chopped yellow onion 1 C peanut oil 1/2 C rice wine vinegar 1/2 C water 3 tsp fresh ginger root, minced or grated 3-1/2 tsp fresh garlic, minced or grated 1 tsp salt 1 tsp pepper 4 tbsp lemon juice 4 tsp sugar 4 tsp soy sauce 4 tsp ground mustard 4 tsp sesame seeds Place all ingredients except sesame seeds into a small food processor and pulse for 1 minute, or until desired consistency.  Stir in sesame seeds. 2017 AUG 30 -- Day 11

I weighed myself before work again tonight. I like these lower numbers. I'm pretty sure this is due to not eating during sleep for at least 6 hours. Whatever the case, I'll take it! Yay! Low number! Starting weight:  415 lbs Current weight:  406.4 lbs  ⇩  Long-term Goal:  145 lbs Short-term Goal:  399 lbs I'm at work. It's 10:30 PM. I've been feeling the hungry growly monster in my tummy, but I've been ignoring him... until now. I'm eating my sandwich. According to the book, you are only supposed to feel hungry when you're body is below its set-point. Is my set point higher than 406.4 lbs? Wow! I need to find out how to lower that a lot faster. How can I make it 145 lbs? LOL. I know the answer to this. It gradually becomes lower over time; I must be patient. The trend is still downward on the whole, but right now it is still well above the first measurement I took at 404.8 the day I got my scale. It's going down, and I saw 406.4 lbs today ...

2017 SEP 1 -- Day 13

I splurged a bit on high-set-point food this weekend. I have regrets. I also have a rather large up-blip as a result. I ate pizza with my favorite toppings which is a very familiar flavor making it a more fattening food according to Seth's theory. Flavor recognition makes food more fattening, basically, because there are very strong flavor-calorie associations. Foods with very familiar flavors are called "ditto" foods, and ditto foods must be avoided. It's possible to change the flavor of the food so it is not a ditto food, but I didn't do that. The result: Starting weight:  415 lbs Current weight:  410.4 lbs  ⇧   Long-term Goal:  145 lbs Short-term Goal:  399 lbs This seems like a huge setback, but I'm going to ignore it for now and just keep truckin'. I'm sure I can drop it again in a few days as I did before. The graph of my numbers since starting is very reassuring. I now know how to regain control. I simply have to remember to use m...
