I am at my lowest weight so far today, and I am thrilled! I also got some fairly decent sleep, too. I tested my blood glucose again today, and it was 133mg/dl which is still scarily high, but it is much improved over yesterday's 146mg/dl reading. I'm thinking the fasting is pushing it up, but I expect it will keep falling to more normal ranges as my fasting persists. I read a bit about it yesterday.
Starting weight: 401 lbs
Current weight: 354.4 lbs ⇩
Long-term Goal: 145 lbs
Short-term Goal: 325 lbs
In total, since I started the new diet after seeing the scale reach back up to 401 lbs in March, I have dropped an amazing 46.6 lbs. 15 lbs were done with just the Shangri-la diet, and the rest was after I found out about keto and fasting. I have to say, the keto and fasting is definitely a lot more effective.
My husband's blood glucose reading today was in the 90s! He's cured! He's not diabetic! Woo! I'm so happy that we were able to get that in check before anything bad happened. And I also firmly believe that I found keto and fasting just in time to help him with this challenge. If that doesn't speak to there being a God, then I don't know what does. I know my husband, the atheist, wouldn't agree with me on this point. I'm okay with that.
I hate taking the pink salt capsules. I may have mentioned this. About 5 minutes after I take one, my tummy gets really upset. Last night it also made me feel a bit nauseated momentarily. Luckily there wasn't anything in me but water in case there was an incident, but luckily the feeling subsided as quickly as it came on.
I think my husband is finally in ketosis. He has been feelin
g a bit cold of late. That's a fairly tell-tale sign. He usually sleeps in his underwear with the AC blowing. I have to bundle up in two blankets. This time, he asked to use one of my blankets, and he raised the temperature on the AC a bit. He is a bit discouraged by the fact that he hasn't lost too much weight. I lost a lot of water weight in my first week, and then I plateaued a bit. He hasn't lost much, but now that he is in ketosis, it should start coming off. We'll see.
My husband will hit his goal weight before I hit mine, but that's okay graph:
